Fusion Breakfast – Pizza Paratha

When I am home alone, I always try to do something to please myself and food is the easy route for this activity. Last week, I had to work from home one day and I have served myself with a fabulous breakfast of Pizza Paratha. I didnot have all the requite ingredients and hence do a jugaad kind of stuffing with some peas and sweet corn. Thankfully I had both mozarella and cheddar cheese available in my fridge, and used a lot of it while making the stuffing. Loved the taste of pizza qith oozing cheese from a paratha. What a fusion dish it was. Planning to make it again when son comes home.

Ingredients for Pizza Paratha

  • All purpose flour – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Sweet corn – 1 tbsp
  • Green peas – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato – 1
  • Dried Basil and Oregano – 1/2 tsp each
  • Chili flakes – 1/2 tsp
  • Grated Cheese – Mozzarella and Cheddar – 1 tbsp each
  • Pizza paste sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Oil for frying the paratha

How to make Pizza Paratha

Add the ghee to the maida or all purpose flour and blend well using your fingers.

Make a dough along with required amount of water. Smear some oil and keep aside with a cover.

In a bowl, take boiled corn and peas, two types of cheese, chopped tomato, oregano and basil. Mix well and add required amount of salt and chili flakes.

Bind them together using a spoon or by bare hand.

I have also added some pizza pasta sauce to it.

Mix one spoon of the sauce to the pizza stuffing. Keep aside.

While you are ready to fry the paratha, divide the dough into two parts.

Roll it up and make two roti out of it. Now, place the stuffing onto one roti and cover it with the other roti.

Secure the sides with a good pinch so that the stuffing is not oozing out.

Heat tawa and carefully place the stuffed paratha onto the tawa.

Roast one side thoroughly and then flip the paratha to roast the other side.

When both sides are roasted well, add 1 tsp of oil and smear onto the paratha. Do the same with the other side.

Do it multiple times to ensure even cooking from both the sides.

Yes, the pizza paratha is ready to grab now.

Serve with your favorite sauce. You can cut them into segments and serve them.
