Bhetki Fish Popcorn

We have this licious company delivering fresh meat and fish in our locality and they are really doing a good job. The price is a bit upper side, but you get the choicest cut of meat or fish and that is the USP of this brand. Few days back, hubby ordered some fish fillet from them. It was bhetki filet and I made this quick recipe of Fish Popcorn to go with other weekend snacks. I served them with some hot chili sauce. You can have it with ketchup also.

Fish Popcorn

Ingredients for Fish Popcorn

  • Fish fillet – 300 gm
  • Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Mixed herb – 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Corn flour – 2 tbsp
  • Rice flour – 1 tbsp
  • Egg – 1
  • White oil for frying the popcorn

How to make Fish Popcorn

Cut the fish fillets into bite size pieces.

Add the soya sauce, salt, black pepper and mixed herb. Mix it with a spoon and marinate for atleast 15 minutes.

Add the egg and rice flour and corn flour. Mix again to make a coating to the fish.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish popcorn till golden brown from all sides.

Do it in batches.

Serve hot with your choice of sauce.

I am planning to recreate other popcorn recipes and posting it to the blog. One obvious choice is chicken popcorn. What about some mutton popcorn? Surely in my list, Then may be I will try some vegetable popcorn. Vegetable choice could be a potato or some mixed veggie popcorn. How about KFC style some chicken popcorn? I heard from one of my friend that, the chicken popcorn served at KFC contains the chicken skin and not the actual chicken. This made me think of preparing it more at home so that I can trash those first food from ordering.
