Honey Garlic Pork fry


I was craving for some honey garlic pork fry since the lockdown started. But for obvious reason hubby could not manage to buy some fresh pork and my cravings were increasing day by day. Then last weekend we went to the nearby haringhata booth from where we have got some fresh pork.
I already have some chilli pork recipe in my blog but this time I was looking for some fried pork. After a bit of googling, found this particular recipe. Ofcourse I have tweaked it a bit like used soya sauce instead of tamari sauce and added big chunks of onions which were not part of the original recipe. However, the end result was absolutely delicious and we have really enjoyed it . It is a recipe to keep, so noting down the steps for future use.

Honey Garlic Pork fry

Ingredients for Pork Fry

  • Fresh Pork – 500 gms
  • Soya Sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Onion – 1, big, cubed
  • Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic bits – 1 tsp , I love the crunch
  • Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Hot and Sweet Sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Salt, black pepper powder
  • Roasted sesame seed
  • Corn flour – 1 tbsp

How to make Honey Garlic Pork Fry

Marinate the fresh pork with 1 tbsp of soya sauce for 30 minutes atleast.

In a flat pan, place the pork pieces side by side and cook over high heat. You donot have to use any oil, since fresh pork already contains lots of fat. Fry carefully so that the pork doesnot get burnt. You may need to fry the pork in batches. Keep aside.

Arrange for the other ingredients before start of the cooking.

While frying loads of oil will come out. Pour the excess oil in a separate cup. Keep 1 tbsp in the pan.

Add the garlic paste and garlic bits to the pan, Fry till golden brown.

Add the onion cubes and give it a quick stir. Once onion turns color, add the honey, remaining soya sauce, hot and sweet sauce and black pepper and mix well. Add half cup of water and give it a nice mix.

When water starts bubbling, add the fried pork into the pan and give it a quick stir so that the sauce clings to the pork pieces. Sprinkle the roasted sesame seed too.

Finally, mix the corn flour with little water and pour it onto the pan, Give it a final stir and check for seasoning. Since the sauces already contains salt, be cautious and add the salt if required. Serve immediately after sprinkling some more sesame seeds.

If you like to have it hot, add some chopped green chilli at the end.
