How are you all my friends? Yes, we are under threat now and still in the lockdown phase and had to ration our food intake and be responsible for zero waste, right !! As a measure to follow this principle, I am presenting this Machh er Tel Chorchori for you all. Machh er tel or fish oil is the main ingredient to this recipe, and who doesnot know the goodness of fish oil in today’s world. Yes, you get your dose of Omega 3, when you have fish oil. I have mixed some bit of fish eggs to it too, and it has enhanced it’s taste. Dearest Hubby doesnot like the fishy smell though and that’s why I keep adding more and more garlic to it, Luckily this Machh er Tel chorchori is my Son’s favorite and he didnot complain when I served him this delicious mishmash with plain rice.

How to prepare Machh er Tel Chorchori
Wash the fish oil and fish egg and sprinkle some salt, turmeric powder and kashmiri chilli powder. Mix lightly and keep aside.
Sprinkle salt and turmeric to potato and brinjal cubes too.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated potato and brinjal in batches. keep aside.
In the same pan, fry the fish eggs too. Remove from pan and keep aside.
Add the chopped onion into the remaining oil in the pan and fry for 30 seconds. Add the marinated fish oil into the same pan and mix with onion.
The fish oil will start emitting oil of its own, Fry the onions till it turns brown, then add the gisger paste followed by garlic bits and sliced green chilli. I have added the chopped tomatoes as well.
Once the raw smell is gone and the tomatoes are mashed, add salt, turmeric and a bit of garam masala powder. Fry well.
Add the fried potato and brinjal cubes and give it a good stir.
Keep cooking with a sprinkle of water here and there. I cook it on a low flame with the lid on. Let the vegetables get cooked and mashed with the fish oil and the masala. Add the fried fish eggs too.
Once the potato is cooked through, adjust the seasoning. the dish must be a complete mishmash aka chorchori.
Your machh er Tel Chorchori is ready to be served with plain rice. Enjoy and have your dose of afternoon siesta afterwards, You will love it, I bet.
