Aloo potol bori – bati chorchori

Another quick recipe from my kitchen to yours, when you donot have the urge to cook but feel like feeding some healthy vegetables to your family members.

I have some other bati chorchori recipe too, and this bati chorchori is nothing but putting all ingredients including masalas and oil to a deep bowl aka bati and cook it on very low temperature with a lid till everything is cooked and mixed with each other. You donot need to keep an eye on this practically. 

Ingredients :

  • Potato – 3
  • Patol or parwal – 5-6
  • Onion – 1
  • Bori / dried lentil balls – 8-10
  • Salt, turmeric
  • Green chilli
  • Mustard oil

Method:

Cut all the vegetables into equal sized pieces. I prefer to keep the peels on. ( again, my laziness), so washed the vegetables thoroughly and soaked in water for 30 minutes before cutting.

Fey the boris till golden brown and keep aside.

Now put the cut vegetables in a deep pan. Add sliced green chilli, salt and turmeric. Pour 2 tbsp of mustard oil.

Put it on gas stove with the lid on. Keep the temperature low. Your job is almost done. It will start boiling . You may need to stit a bit here and there. When vegetables are almost cooked, add the fried boris to the pan. Stir well.

When all vegetables are cooked and bori has soaked some water, the dish is ready. 

Remive from heat. You may add few deops of mustard oil at the end.

Serve.
