Butter Garlic Mushroom

We as a family love mushrooms. Though it is not a very common item found in local vegetable market, but during this time of the year, you can see button mushrooms here and there. Whenever we find them, we make sure we get them and then it is a simple stir fry with some butter and garlic. It is really mouth watering and goes well with bengali ‘dal bhat ‘ or rice and pulses as a side. My son loves to munch on it as a snack as well.


  • Button Mushrooms – 200 gms
  • Chopped Garlic – 1 heaped tbsp
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Salt, Black pepper powder

Wash and Chop the mushrooms and keep aside. In a pan, heat the butter and when it is hot, add chopped garlic into it.

When the garlic starts turning brown, add sliced mushroom with a pinch of salt.

Mushroom will release lot of water and will get cooked in its own juice. Let it remain as it is till the water evaporates. Sprinkle lot of black pepper powder and mix well. We like it hot, so sometimes I add chopped green chilli too.

When the mushrooms cooked through and the water evaporates completely, you are done. Adjust the seasoning as required and enjoy it hot !!
